Tank you very much: San Antonio's unexpected roadblock

SAN ANTONIO (WOAI) — A tank fell off a flatbed truck and landed on I-10 in San Antonio, Texas Sunday afternoon.

The incident was reported at around 4 p.m. near the Wurzbach exit.

The self-propelled artillery piece, tentatively identified as an M109 Howitzer, was not part of a military convoy, and there were no uniformed military personnel at the scene.

Mission Wrecker San Antonio led the recovery of the vehicle and confirmed they were in communication with officials from Camp Bullis.

C&T Trucking also said they were aware of the incident and worked closely with Mission Wrecker and Camp Bullis officials.

The tank and tractor-trailer had been removed from the highway by 8 p.m.
