Tennessee woman celebrates 102nd birthday, says she drinks a glass of wine every day

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WZTV) — A Midstate woman is celebrating her 102nd birthday this week.

Originally from Mississippi, Maxine Eastland moved to an independent living facility in Franklin a decade ago. She also lived in Germany during World War II when her late husband was stationed there while serving with the US Air Force.

Brookdale Franklin, the facility where Eastland currently lives, says she loves playing bridge and always keeps the score. She also drinks a glass of white wine every day.

When asked her secret to longevity, she said “I couldn’t tell you, I just enjoy life.”
