Rory Ehrlich and his mullet, the "Cheddar Wiz," were crowned the Mullet Champion in Mullet Champ's national kids competition Wednesday.

The six-year-old boy from Pottstown, Penn., beat out 300 fellow three- to eight-year-olds over three rounds of voting that began mid-July.

Mullet Champ holds multiple competitions, both in-person in cities around the U.S. and nationally online, as part of its wider effort to support and celebrate the oft-maligned hairstyle.

Mullet Champs is all about celebrating the bold and outrageous hairstyle that is the mullet," the organization's website reads. "With our annual mullet champion contest, we travel across the country searching for the wildest mullets out there.

As part of the voting process for competitions like the recently-wrapped up one for kids, participants are required to donate to Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors, a non-profit that raises money to build and remodel mortgage-free homes for veterans.

The hair-forward organization claims to have raised $176,799.30 for Jared Allen's Homes in the 2023 competition season so far.

As winner of the kid's tourney, Ehrlich will receive $5,000 in prize money and praise for his flowing locks.

According to his bio on the Mullet Champ competition website, he had been growing out his mullet for over a year and told a Philadelphia news station he has no plans of cutting the champion's hairstyle.

"Because it looks cool," he said.

A fellow bespoke-mullet boy from the Keystone State, five-year-old Kamden Cunningham and his mullet "The Kammander," took home third place.

Second place went to three-year-oldEzekiel Arita of Hawaii and his mullet "Mr. Aloha Mullet."
