Former President Donald Trump's love for fast food, especially McDonalds, is a well documented part of his public persona.

In fact, during the 2018-2019 government shutdown – the longest in history – Trump welcomed the championship Clemson football team to the White House with a huge spread of burgers, fries and other treats from the golden arches due to staffing cut backs from the shutdown (which also affected the White House kitchen staff).

The former president appeared to have a hankering for some of his comfort food Monday while appearing in court in Manhattan as part of a civil case brought against him and the Trump Organization.

TMZ reported a pair of security guards were spotted carrying several large bags of McDonalds into the court house, although it is unknown whether they were destined for the former president's hands.

He is being sued by New York Attorney General Letitia James over allegations that he habitually lied about his wealth and inflated his net worth and the value of his assets to secure better loans and insurance rates from banks and insurers.

Judge Arthur Engoron ruled last week that Trump and the organization were liable for fraud on this front and has ordered some of the former president's companies removed from his control and desolved, as well as an independent organization monitor and oversee the Trump Organization's continued business pracitces.

Before walking into court, Trump took a moment to speak with reporters about the case and called it "a continuation of the single greatest witch hunt of all time."
