ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WJAR) – Two Massachusetts high school students decided to throw their own prom Saturday night.
About 60 juniors from high schools all over Massachusetts danced the night away at the Elks Lodge.
Tickets were $20 to make up for costs for food, music and fun.
The girls told NBC 10 News since they already missed out on so much during the pandemic, they didn’t want to miss anything else.
"I feel like a lot of people like us wanted to have a prom ... You only get it twice so we wanted to put it on to make other people happy," said Abbi Cloutier from Attleboro High School and Mikayler Patch from Norton High School.
The girls said they began planning the prom last minute about a month ago. Their families helped to decorate, chaperone and set up.
