FLORENCE S.C. (WPDE) — A high school senior in South Carolina is celebrating after being accepted into Harvard University!
Dre’Shon Ky’zere Jackson's mom, LaShonda NeSmith-Jackson, shared the big moment he found out on social media in a heartwarming video.
LaShonda's post said:
I’ve heard the saying if nobody laugh at your dreams, you’re not dreaming big enough. Well Dre’Shon had a dream of getting into Harvard since he was in 7th grade. We knew it was a long shot, but you miss every shot you don’t take right?
She added that her son is in several academic clubs, is the National Beta Club President, founder of the Wilson U Newspaper Club and a shift leader at Chick-fil-A.
The future Harvard class of 2028 graduate was also accepted into Clemson University.
