A pair of high school sweethearts were crowned prom king and queen for a third time on Tuesday.

Donald Gonchar and Susan Adams have been married for 70 years. Back in the 1950’s they were crowned during their senior proms at D.C.’s Western High School, now called Duke Ellington School of the Arts.

On Tuesday, the couple went back to prom to reclaim their titles, this time at their senior living community in Lake Ridge, Virginia. They even got a special letter of recognition from D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser.

The Gochars said their first apartment was in D.C. and they paid a whopping $97.50 each month. Eventually, they moved to Virginia.

The couple has two daughters and now two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
