YORK, Neb. (KHGI) — Youtuber Andrew Flair, who purchased a $550,000 Nebraska missile silo back in 2022, is now selling the over 2,500 square foot underground property.
“I wanted to sell it as a turnkey ‘You could literally live down there if you wanted to property',” said Flair.
Things down under may look a lot different as the nuclear bunker has gone through a few upgrades.
There’s a movie theater screen popcorn machine foosball table but I thought if you’re going to stay underground you need to have a few more things to make it you know comfortable.
To renovate a property like a silo, Flair says adjustments had to be made considering it’s not shaped like your typical home.
As you're laying you know the laminate it's they're all shaped like rectangles and so to get them all perfectly cut in a circle and not have a big gap because we didn't have baseboard or anything down to cover that which you would typically have in home to make the flooring look clean and not have a bunch of gaps everywhere was really difficult on the circle," he explained.
The Atlas-F Missile Silos like this were built in the early to late 50s when America was in nuclear arms with the Soviet Union. They were designed to withstand a nuclear attack, now just a noisy neighbor or two.
Realtors Polly and Mike Figueroa say there’s a market for buyers looking for unique homes.
We've got calls from all over the country it takes a unique buyer to own something like this. There’s a lot of potential in this whether you want to build a cabin or Verboor an ultimate man cave," the couple said.
Flair said he has no plans to buy another silo but, the 45-day renovation has taught him a thing or two.
“It kind of taught me that we are capable of doing really good work in a quick amount of time," he added.
This renter-friendly home could be anyone's for $750,000.
