Police arrest 18-year-old for overnight murder of woman inside her Edgehill apartment

UPDATE (1:15 p.m.)

Metro Police arrested an 18-year-old for the overnight murder of a woman inside her Edgehill apartment.

Homicide Unit detectives charged David Clark, 18, with criminal homicide for the deadly shooting of Heather Probst, 33, inside her apartment on 12th Ave. South.

A neighbor reported finding Probst dead from a gunshot wound to her head at around 2:30 a.m. Probst’s infant daughter was asleep in a nearby room, unharmed.

Detectives say they spotted Clark on foot wearing clothing that matched the description of a man seen on surveillance footage leaving Probst’s apartment around the time of the murder.

Investigators detained Clark and carried him to police headquarters. During an interview, Metro Police say Clark admitted to shooting Probst during an argument.

Clark provided information on the whereabouts of the gun, which has now been recovered.

One person is dead after a shooting at the Edgehill Homes.

The Metro Nashville Police Department responded to a call of shots fired in the Edgehill area. When they arrived on scene they found a body.

MNPD says that a woman was found with gunshot wounds in her upper body.

A child was found inside unharmed. They were taken to Vanderbilt hospital be be checked out.

Officers say that the shooting doesn't appear to be random. Nothing suggests that there is any danger for the public.

There is no suspect in custody, MNPD says that this is an active investigation. They are reviewing cameras in the area.
