Play ball! Nashville Sounds 2022 schedule announced

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Play ball! The Nashville Sounds announced its 2022 schedule Thursday. The 144-game slate includes home games against Braves, Cardinals and Reds affiliates at First Horizon Park.

The Sounds will get the season started at home on April 5 against the Durham Bulls, the Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.

“We’re excited to continue getting back to a sense of normal at First Horizon Park,” said Sounds co-owner Frank Ward. “We greatly appreciate the tremendous support our fanbase has shown us this year. Being able to announce our 2022 schedule now helps everybody start planning their next adventure at the ballpark.”

The Sounds plan to host a pair of six-game home series against the Memphis Redbirds (St. Louis Cardinals affiliate) from July 12-17 and August 30-September 4. They also will welcome Gwinnett (Atlanta Braves affiliate) for a pair of six-game series from June 21-26 and August 9-14. The Sounds will face off against the Louisville Bats (Cincinnati Reds affiliate) from May 17-22 for a six-game set.

The team will only spend one holiday of the season playing at home for their Mother’s Day game against Norfolk. They’re on the road for an Easter game at Gwinnett, a Memorial Day game at Durham, a Father’s Day game at Memphis and an Independence Day game at Columbus.

For those wanting to stick closer to home, the home schedule features 36 weekend dates, including 12 on Fridays, 12 on Saturdays and 12 on Sundays.

Times for all 144 games will be announced at a later date. Season ticket packages go on sale Thursday, August 19. Find more information here.
