Tennessee Gov. issues proclamation for 'Big Orange Friday' ahead of Alabama game

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam wants UT fans to really get in the spirit before the Alabama game this weekend.

Haslam signed an official proclamation declaring Oct. 19 as"Big Orange Friday."

The day encourages all Tennessee University Vols fans to sport the school's colors.

UT hosts No 1. Alabama on Saturday. Tennessee (2-3, 0-2 SEC) is midway through a stretch of four straight games against teams currently in the Top 25.

The Vols opened their SEC schedule with a 47-21 loss to No. 14 Florida and followed that up by falling 38-12 at No. 2 Georgia .
