The Daytona 500 is NASCAR's biggest race. Everyone in the garage area want to win on the sport’s biggest stage. But sometimes just getting through the race can feel like an episode of "Survivor." So what is the best strategy to get to the end. It depends on who you ask.

One group says stay out front. There's a better chance of avoiding the wreck if it happens behind you.

"I say that because I feel the 'big one' has steadily progressed closer and closer to the checkered flag," said Chris Buescher.

Still, just because you’re at the front of the pack, doesn't mean wrecks won't happen. So, there's another group that believes the back of the pack is the place to be.

"You can get far enough off the back of the pack to give yourself some ability to slow down and miss a wreck early on in the race," said Ricky Stenhouse, Jr.

When it comes down to it, it’s all about risk vs reward. How bad do you want thinks like stage wins and points and are you willing to risk as chance to be there at race end for those points?

"At a point you really have to start taking the risks," said Eric Jones. "You may get caught in the 'big one' you may not. But you have to start taking those risks to be in a position to win."
