Nobody knows how to enjoy Chicago like Illinois natives Alex Borstein and Craig Robinson. We caught up with the actor-comedians at the “Bad Guys 2” premiere in Los Angeles, where they dished on the best way to explore their hometown.
Alex Borstein, born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago in Highland Park, Illinois, tells our Courtney Tezeno that she’s heading straight to a sporting event, and you should too.
“I'd probably hop on the train and get to downtown Chicago, and I'd go see a Bears Game at Soldier Field, baby!”
When asked if there’s a comfort food Borstein enjoys after a long day shooting on set, the 54-year-old actress quickly turned to the city’s famous favorite: Pizza.
“Deep dish pizza,” Borstein said. “Chicago's got the deep-dish pizza, and I'm not going to get into an argument with you about what's better. Thin pizza, New York pizza. All pizza is good. It's like sex, even the worst of it is good.”
That settles it, her hometown’s style of baking pizza is not up for debate.
For Robinson, a Chicago native, he says grabbing popcorn from Garrett’s is an essential in The Chi. Order his favorite combo, a sweet-and-savory mix all in one popcorn bucket.
“Garrett's popcorn and caramel and cheese mix, and then go [listen] to some house music,” the “Office” alum said.

Borstein and Robinson portray the voices of police officer Chief Misty Luggins and Mr. Shark, respectively, in the “Bad Guys” sequel, where the original crew tries to become good. Borstein talked about why this film proves “there’s no such thing as bad or good, we all live in the grey spaces.”
“The Bad Guys 2” is in theaters August 1.
