Sofia Carson’s ultimate one-day guide to her Florida hometown favorites

Sofia Carson travels across the pond in her new Netflix film, “My Oxford Year,” but the actress gave us her one-day guide to visiting her home state of Florida. While promoting her new rom-com, Carson tells our Courtney Tezeno the best things to do if you’re visiting The Sunshine State for a quick trip.

“I would probably take you on a boat ride in Miami, because the weather is so beautiful,” the “Love Is the Name” singer, 32, said.

She continued, “Go for a dip in the water, like close to Key Biscayne. Do like a sunset boat ride, then perhaps have a meal, either in downtown or in Miami Beach, and then we'd go out dancing somewhere.”

Since dinner and dancing are on the itinerary, Sofia suggests exploring any of the Miami nightlife options for an unforgettable experience.

“There's amazing nightlife in Miami, and it being like a highly Latin American population, it's like the best places to go out dancing,” Sophia explained.

Her late-night food of choice would be “very typical American.” Sofia’s heading straight to a drive-through for a fast food chain at either Taco Bell or McDonald’s to finish the night out.

Sofia stars opposite “Bridgerton” actor Corey Mylchreest, who played King George III. The two portray Anna and Jamie, who are star-crossed lovers attending the same university in England, in a whirlwind romance. Sofia tells us whether she relates to her character Anna, who falls in love fast.

“I think it also is very dependent,” Sofia said. “Sometimes love kind of catches you by surprise, right? And you just fall really deeply quickly. I tend to be more cautious, but that has happened to me.”
