'Wednesday' season 2 trailer sends Jenna Ortega back to school to save her BFF

“Wednesday” season two is sending Jenna Ortega’s gothy but reluctantly helpful teen back to school with a new mission.
The new trailer for the Netflix series, executive produced by Tim Burton, kicks off with the dramatic chords of the lead song from “The Phantom of the Opera” musical as Wednesday returns to Nevermore Academy.
Wednesday is now famous thanks to her efforts to save the school last season, bombarded by fans (her worst nightmare) and the attention of the new headmaster, played by Steve Buscemi.
She’s reunited with her roommate and pal, the bubbly werewolf, Enid (though Wednesday would never really call her “pal,” that’s far too familiar and friendly).
But Wednesday’s visions show a dark future for sweet Enid, one where she dies and its apparently Wednesday’s fault. That means the spooky teen is digging into another mystery at the magical school and her own family.
“Secrets are the bedrock of the Addams family. The sooner I get answers, the sooner I can save Enid — or die trying,” she grimly states.
Catherine Zeta-Jones’ role as Wednesday’s mother Morticia looks to be expanded in season two as we see the glamorous goth attend a party with Wednesday and empathize with her psychic visions.
“I will not let history repeat itself,” she ominously promises.
The Addams family all get more screentime it seems, with Wednesday’s younger brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez) joining her at school, Luis Guzman returning as dad Gomez Addams, and Joanna Lumley playing Grandmama Hester Frump, Morticia’s mother.
“Wednesday” season two, part one, premieres August 6 on Netflix.
