“Yellowstone” star Luke Grimes is excited for the upcoming “Y: Marshals” spinoff and recently gave excited fans a hint of what’s to come.

“You will see some familiar faces,” he told TooFab in a recent interview.

He continued, "I'm excited to do it. It's going to be year eight for me, playing the same character, which is, who would have thought that I would ever play a character for eight years? But, he's really close to my heart. He feels like a family member, and it would be weird to fully let him go anyway, so I'm glad we get to reconnect."

“Y: Marshals” was announced in May of this year, set to focus on Grimes’ character, Kayce Dutton, moving on from the ranch and joining the U.S. Marshals in Montana, according to Deadline.

According to the official logline, Kayce will be “combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.”

When the show was announced, Grimes shared the news on his Instagram, writing, “Cowboys don’t say goodbye, they say see you later.”

“Y: Marshals” will air on CBS in Spring of 2026 on Sundays, with 13 episodes in the first season.
