When you leave this world, how do you want to go out? I don't mean how do you plan on dying, but how would you like your body shuttled to its final resting place? If you're a well-heeled fan of Italian automobiles, perhaps we've found just the rigor-mortis ride for you. Say hello to your Maserati Ghibli Hearse.
This is the work of Italian builder Ellena Autotrasformazioni. The company, which produces luxury funeral cars, has created rigs built from the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Vito van. Now it's built a hearse out of a car that could also wind up dead before you even make it to cemetery.
The Maserati here apparently makes use of a 3.0-liter V-6 turbodiesel. The rear bodywork is done in fiberglass, and the interior coffin space looks incredibly luxurious. This is truly a fancy way to take your last ride.
This really isn't the Maserati wagon we were hoping for. The Quattroporte Bellagio is still the longroof that we'd like to own. Either way, we say give us more wagons in this world...even if this one is meant to shuttle you off to your final resting place.
