YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif. (FOX26) — A video was captured showing a spectacular ‘Firefall’ created by the sun in Yosemite.

The video was taken by Jay Huang last week at Horsetail Fall in Yosemite National Park.
Thousands of people gather every year for a chance to catch the amazing sight.

The effect appears when sunshine creates an afterglow on the falls at sunset.
The falls are usually shaded by clouds, so the sight is not often seen.

To catch the striking phenomenon, multiple conditions are needed:
- The sunset light is not blocked by clouds.
- There is enough snow on the top of the mountain and the temperature of the day is high enough to melt the snow.
- The wind in the valley is strong enough to blow up the water of the waterfall and create a feeling of sparks flying.
