SAN ANTONIO (WOAI/KABB) — A Texas hotel settled for $300,000 after a toddler was injured by a falling ketchup bottle.
Omni La Mansión del Rio in San Antonio agreed to pay one of its guests to settle a lawsuit involving a ketchup bottle that fell from a balcony and hit a toddler on the head.
It happened in 2018 when a man staying at the hotel along the River Walk said he accidentally dropped the bottle from a sixth-floor balcony when he hit a cart with his knee while eating.
The glass ketchup bottle landed on a 1-year-old boy. It fractured his skull and he had a seizure days later.
The boy's family originally sued the hotel for more than $1 million in damages.
