WASHINGTON (TNND) — Giant pandas, Bao Li and Qing Bao, are turning their quarantine into a playdate at the National zoo.
Instead of sulking in isolation, the pair appeared to be having a ball.
Zoo keepers at theSmithsonian National Zoo provided the furry friends with toys in hopes it would encourage physical and mental activity.
The newly released video of the pandas showed them interacting with a ball, and at times tossing a ball around their playground that's equipped with a water feature.
The colorful toys seem to be keeping the pandas on their toes - literally!
It's clear to see that Bao Li and Qing Bao can both multitask as they sniff, munch, and paw at the toys.
The pandas are being held at the zoo's David M. Rubenstein Family Giant Panda Habitat after arriving to the U.S. from China earlier this month.
The video posted Friday is the first glimpse of the pandas at the zoo in Washington, D.C.
A quarantine period is a routine practice in zoos accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums to reduce risk of introducing parasites or disease to other animals, according to the zoo's Instagram post.
